Seoul: The 2024 Seoul Lantern Festival, held over the past two months along Cheonggye Stream that flows through the heart of the capital, drew 3.28 million visitors, up 5 percent over the preceding event, the Seoul Tourism Organization (STO) said Wednesday.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the annual nighttime festival took place for 49 days from Dec. 13 last year to Jan. 31 under the theme of "SOUL LANTERN: Play with the light of Seoul." It showcased various attractions, including 242 light sculptures and a lantern playground, in cooperation with Kakao Mobility, Nongshim Co., and five other partners.
A survey of visitors revealed that 90.8 percent said they were satisfied with the event, while 91.6 percent expressed interest in attending the next festival, the STO noted.
