3-tier security measures taken centering Eid-ul-Azha in Ctg

A three-tier security measures have been taken in the port city and its adjacent areas centering the Eid-ul-Azha.

Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) has also set up nearly 180 Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras at different strategic points, including Eid markets, to monitor the overall security arranged for the city dwellers.

CMP Commissioner Krisno Pada Roy said its specialized units SWAT, dog squad, quick response team, bomb disposal unit will be on standby so that law enforcers can deal with any problem.

He also said that strict security arrangements have been made for the Eid congregation. The entire system will be covered by CCTVs. He also advised those who are going to their village home during the Eid holidays to keep their valuables in a safe place.

He said this after inspecting the preparation of the Eid Jamaat at the Jamiatul Falah Jama Masjid ground in the Wasa area of the city this morning.

All the entry points of the city such as Shah Amanat Bridge, City Gate and Oxygen area have b
een brought under CCTV monitoring. Necessary instructions have also been given to search the suspicious persons at any point during the celebration period.

Chattogram district police has also taken additional security measures in all 15 upazila headquarters from the previous day of Eid and that will continue for the following three days.

On the other hand, RAB-7 has taken all-out security measures to make the festival a success, RAB sources said.

Special diets will be served to the inmates of different hospitals, jails and Government Shishu Sadan on the Eid day, district Administration sources said.
