NRD MOBILE SERVICE AMONG ATTRACTIONS AT KITA MADANI CARNIVAL

Fast service in getting identity cards, birth and death certificates renewed and replaced are among the attractions at the KITA Madani Carnival held in conjunction with the launch of 2023 National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang campaign at Bulatan Sultan Azlan Shah, Meru Raya.

Menyemai Kasih Rakyat (MEKAR) Nucleus Team senior registration assistant Mohd Fauzi Kadri said the mobile bus service initiative by the National Registration Department (NRD) will operate from 3pm to 10pm today and from 10am to 5pm tomorrow.

He said the fee to renew an identity card is RM10 while RM5 will be charged to replace a birth or death certificate.

"Some of the visitors live quite a distant from the NRD, so when there is a programme like this, various documentation matters can be completed in one day without having to disrupt a working day," he told Bernama.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health (MOH) is offering free dental health checks at the carnival.

Periodontics officer Nurul Qamar Salehuddin said among others, the offer was to make visitors aware of dental health care.

She said the dental care services on offer include teeth cleaning, scaling and fillings as well as free consultation.

"Several visitors who dropped by our booth were still not unaware or have limited knowledge of oral hygiene practices.

"About 20 doctors with differrent types of specialties such as gum care, periodontics are here to share their knowledge with the public," she said.

A host of interesting activities are being held from today, including the Rahmah Sale, government agencies' exhibition, contest showing patriotic spirit, nationalistic quiz and flagging off the Kembara Merdeka Jalur Gemilang convoy.

The police will be offering a discount on certain traffic summons and compounds and a payment counter will open from 8.30am to 3pm on Sunday.

Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof will officiate at the launching ceremony here, tomorrow on behalf of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The National Day celebration on Aug 31 will be held at Dataran Putrajaya while the Malaysia Day celebration on Sept 16 will take place in Kuching, Sarawak.
