KEMAS AIMS TO PRODUCE 100,000 YOUNG HUFFAZ BY 2026

The Community Development Department (KEMAS) aims to produce 100,000 young huffaz (memorisers of the Quran) within three years through the Tabika Pra Hafiz programme which started last month.

Deputy Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Rubiah Wang said initially, 100 Tabika (kindergarten) classes nationwide were selected to make the pilot project a success with Pahang recording the most classes at 32.

"We plan to add another 4,000 classes next year after seeing the positive development so far and it is the ministry's hope that the initiative will increase parents' trust in our education system,” she told a press conference after handing over the Early Childhood Education Course certificates to 389 people here today.

In another development, she said the ministry always opens up opportunities for all agencies and departments under it to apply for additional allocations to ensure planned projects run smoothly.
