(Olympics) S. Korea secures gold, silver in women’s archery individual event

South Korea assured itself of both the gold and silver medals in the women's archery individual event Saturday at the Paris Olympics.Teammates Lim Si-hyeon and Nam Su-hyeon advanced to the final scheduled for later Saturday at Invalides in Paris.A third South Korean archer, Jeon Hun-young, will face Lisa Barbelin of France in the bronze medal match prior to the gold medal contest.South Korea, a global archery powerhouse, has had two Olympic podium sweeps in the women's individual event: first in 1988 in Seoul and then in 2000 in Sydney.Prior to Saturday, South Korea had won all three gold medals awarded in archery: in the women's team, men's team and mixed team events.Lim will go for her third gold in Paris after helping the women's team and the mixed team to the titles.Source: Yonhap News Agency
