Tigers manager trying to forget about early wins in Korean Series

His Kia Tigers may have won the first two games of the Korean Series against the Samsung Lions, but manager Lee Bum-ho has already put that out of his mind, with his focus solely on winning the third game Friday on the road."In baseball, you can be up 100-0 and still lose," Lee said in his pregame press conference at Daegu Samsung Lions Park in Daegu, 235 kilometers southeast of Seoul. "There have been a couple of times when a team blew a 2-0 lead in the Korean Series. So we have put the first two wins behind us, and we are just concentrating on the remaining games."The Tigers will be licking their chops against Game 3 starter, Denyi Reyes, who had an 8.31 ERA in three regular-season meeting against the Tigers.Lee said the key will be to pounce on the right-hander's mistakes, noting that Reyes only allowed seven hits in 13 2/3 innings across two games in the last postseason round against the LG Twins."It's going to be hard to string together hits against him," Lee said. "We will try to run on him and keep him on his toes. And he will make mistakes, and we can't afford to miss them when that happens."As for his own starter, Eric Lauer, Lee said he wanted the American left-hander to get a shot at revenge after he gave up seven hits and four runs in 3 1/3 innings in his Korea Baseball Organization debut on Aug. 11."We put him down for Game 3 well before this series. He is eager to get his shot at redemption," Lee said. "Hopefully, he can give us five innings. If not, our bullpen will be ready early."The Lions shuffled their lineup for Game 3, most notably Ryu Ji-hyuk moving from No. 7 to No. 2 after getting three hits in Game 2."They want their hot hitters near the top of the lineup," Lee said. "We will have to try to cool them down. We will also have to be mindful of any surprises."Source: Yonhap News Agency
