Wiz Re-sign Former KBO MVP Rojas.

SUWON: The KT Wiz announced their re-signing of former MVP Mel Rojas Jr. Rojas agreed to a new one-year deal valued at US$1.8 million, marking his return for a sixth season in the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO).According to Yonhap News Agency, Rojas initially played for the Wiz from 2017 to 2020, securing the regular-season MVP honor in 2020. He departed for Japan before making his comeback to the Wiz ahead of the 2024 season. In a significant performance on October 1, 2024, Rojas hit a three-run home run against the SSG Landers during the KBO fifth-place tiebreaker game at KT Wiz Park in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province.Rojas's return proved successful, as he ranked among the league leaders in various major offensive categories. He finished second in runs with 108, fourth in hits with 188, tied for sixth in home runs with 32, fifth in RBIs with 112, and maintained a batting average of .329/.421/.568. He was one of only four players to achieve the .300/.400/.500 line, demonstrating his continued prowess in the league.The Wiz expressed confidence in Rojas's capabilities, noting his strong performance in 2024 and expecting him to continue as a key leader both on and off the field. The team has now completed their foreign player roster for 2025, having re-signed starter William Cuevas and newly acquired Enmanuel De Jesus.
