Seoul: Senior aides of President Yoon Suk Yeol, including his chief of staff, have offered to resign en masse after the National Assembly blocked Yoon's surprise declaration of martial law. The presidential office confirmed the mass resignation on Wednesday, following intense political developments.According to Yonhap News Agency, the aides who have offered their resignations include Chung Jin-suk, the presidential chief of staff; National Security Adviser Shin Won-sik; Sung Tae-yoon, chief of staff for policy; and seven other senior aides. This move came in response to President Yoon's decision to declare martial law on Tuesday night. Yoon cited the opposition as "anti-state forces," claiming they were obstructing the nation's operations through impeachment motions and a reduced budget bill.The situation escalated as Yoon's martial law declaration faced a unanimous vote by the National Assembly early Wednesday, compelling the president to lift the martial law.
