Sales of Imported Cars in South Korea Drop by 3.9 Percent in November: Data.

Seoul: Sales of imported cars in South Korea experienced a decline of 3.9 percent in November compared to the same month last year, as revealed by industry data on Wednesday. The number of newly registered imported vehicles totaled 23,784 units last month, which is a decrease from the 24,740 units recorded in November of the previous year. However, when compared to October, this figure represents an 11.9 percent increase.According to Yonhap News Agency, BMW emerged as the leading brand in terms of sales last month, with 6,665 units sold, surpassing Mercedes-Benz, which reported sales of 5,086 units. This marked the first time BMW overtook Mercedes-Benz in the past three months. Other brands that followed include Tesla with 3,618 units, Lexus with 1,370 units, and Volvo with 1,319 units.Regarding fuel types, the data indicated a significant rise in hybrid vehicle registrations, which increased by 20.3 percent year-on-year to 9,960 units, making up 50.6 percent of all imported car sales. Electric vehicle re gistrations constituted 22 percent, while gasoline and plug-in hybrid models accounted for 20.3 percent and 5.2 percent, respectively.
