Samsung Electronics Prepares for Strategic Meetings Addressing 2024 Goals

SEOUL: Samsung Electronics Co. is set to conduct a series of executive-level meetings next week aimed at shaping its business strategies for the upcoming year, as reported by industry sources on Thursday. The meetings are part of an ongoing effort by the company to navigate current market challenges and capitalize on upcoming product launches.According to Yonhap News Agency, the global strategy meeting for Samsung's electronics products division will occur on Tuesday and Wednesday, with the semiconductor division's meeting scheduled for Thursday. These biannual meetings serve as a platform for Samsung Electronics' executives to discuss sector-specific and regional issues, while outlining business goals and sales strategies for the next year.Among the key topics on the agenda are strategies to tackle current challenges and marketing plans for flagship products, such as the anticipated Galaxy S25 smartphone. Vice Chairman Han Jong-hee, who oversees the electronics products business, and Vice Chairman Jun Yo ung-hyun, responsible for the semiconductor division, will lead their respective meetings. Notably, Chairman Lee Jae-yong is expected to be absent from these discussions.The strategic meetings at Samsung come in the wake of similar gatherings by other major South Korean conglomerates. Hyundai Motor Group recently held a meeting presided over by Hyundai Motor CEO Chang Jae-hoon and Kia Corp. CEO Song Ho-sung. Additionally, LG Group convened an executive council meeting led by Chairman Koo Kwang-mo, with about 40 senior executives in attendance to deliberate on key management initiatives for the forthcoming year.
