SEOUL: The KOSPI 200 index displayed a mixed performance on Thursday, with notable gains in the technology sector. Key players like Samsung Electronics Mechanical and LG Energy Solution led the upward trend, while several other companies experienced declines.According to Yonhap News Agency, Samsung Electronics Mechanical's stock closed at 120,700 KRW, marking an increase of 1,400 KRW. LG Energy Solution saw a significant rise, with its shares increasing by 26,500 KRW to close at 404,500 KRW. Other companies such as OCI Holdings and COSMAX also experienced upward movements, with their stocks rising by 2,000 KRW and 5,800 KRW, respectively.On the other hand, certain companies faced downturns. Korea Zinc's stock fell by 41,000 KRW to close at 1,361,000 KRW, while Youngpoong saw a decrease of 5,500 KRW, ending at 414,500 KRW. Mobis and HMM were among those that experienced declines, with their shares dropping by 3,000 KRW and 140 KRW, respectively.The energy and chemical sectors also saw mixed results. Han wha Aerospace enjoyed a substantial gain of 13,500 KRW, closing at 311,500 KRW, while Hanchem's shares decreased by 2,600 KRW to 100,900 KRW. Meanwhile, SKC and S-Oil showed positive performance with increases of 6,100 KRW and 400 KRW respectively.Despite the mixed outcomes, the overall sentiment in the market reflected cautious optimism, particularly with the advancements in the tech sector. The KOSPI 200 continues to showcase a dynamic trading environment, with fluctuations across various sectors.
