KOSPI 200 Sees Mixed Performance; LIG Nex1 and GC Corp Lead Gains

SEOUL: In a mixed trading session, the KOSPI 200 index saw varied movements among its constituents, with notable gains in the shares of LIG Nex1 and GC Corp, while others, such as CJ, experienced declines. The overall market performance reflected a blend of investor sentiment and sector-specific influences.

According to Yonhap News Agency, LIG Nex1 recorded a significant increase, closing at 220,500, up by 14,000 points. This surge marks the highest gain among the listed companies, possibly due to heightened interest in the defense sector. Similarly, GC Corp saw an impressive rise of 10,400 points, closing at 179,500, indicating robust investor confidence in its market positioning.

On the downside, CJ faced a notable drop, falling by 2,200 points to close at 99,100. Other companies experiencing declines included HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, which decreased by 2,000 points to 287,500, and LG H and H, which closed at 305,000, down by 2,000 points. These declines suggest a cautious approach by investors amid prevailing market conditions.

In terms of stability, several companies, such as HD Hyundai Infracore and CJ CheilJedang, showed no change in their closing prices, indicating a period of consolidation for these firms. Meanwhile, other gainers included Yuhan, which rose by 7,200 points to 119,500, and Celltrion, which increased by 7,100 points to 187,500, reflecting positive investor outlooks in the healthcare sector.
