S. Korean Bond Yields Continue Downward Trend

Seoul: South Korean bond yields experienced a decrease in the morning session on January 14, 2025. The yields for various Treasury Bonds (TB) and Monetary Stabilization Bonds (MSB) showed a downward shift compared to the previous session.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the 1-year Treasury Bond yield fell by 1 basis point to 2.653%, down from the previous session's 2.663%. The 2-year Treasury Bond experienced a slight decrease of 0.3 basis points, settling at 2.717% from 2.720%. Similarly, the 3-year Treasury Bond yield decreased by 0.5 basis points, moving from 2.664% to 2.659%.

The 10-year Treasury Bond also saw a reduction of 0.5 basis points, with the yield reaching 2.866% compared to the prior 2.871%. In the Monetary Stabilization Bonds category, the 2-year MSB yield decreased by 1.2 basis points to 2.669%, down from 2.681%.

Corporate Bonds (CB) also reflected the trend, with the 3-year CB (rated AA-) yield decreasing by 0.5 basis points, now standing at 3.301% from the previous 3.306%. The continued decrease in bond yields suggests ongoing market conditions influencing investor decisions.
