Ediya to Open First Outlet in Laos in June

Seoul: Ediya Co., South Korea's fourth-largest coffee franchise by sales, announced its expansion into Laos with the signing of a master franchise deal. The company has partnered with Grandview Property Sole Co., a subsidiary of the Kolao Group, to launch its first outlet in the Southeast Asian country in June.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Ediya's agreement with Grandview Property will facilitate the opening of its stores in Cambodia and Myanmar, where Grandview has existing business operations. This move marks Laos as the third international market for Ediya's coffee chain, following its expansion into Guam in December 2023 and Malaysia in June 2024.

The master franchise deal grants the master franchisee the rights to open franchise units and sub-franchise them to third parties within a specified area. Ediya, founded in 2001, is known for its affordable coffee offerings and operates approximately 2,800 stores in South Korea.
