Seoul: Acting President Choi Sang-mok said Tuesday the government is prepared to discuss injecting additional budget with the National Assembly amid growing calls for an extra budget to revitalize the economy already facing headwinds.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Choi stated there are increasing demands from various political sectors, local governments, and the business community for extra fiscal support. This additional input is seen as necessary to aid struggling livelihoods and enhance industrial competitiveness.
Choi emphasized that the government, in collaboration with parliament, is open to addressing this issue, provided it adheres to the fundamental principle of ensuring the most effective use of taxpayers' money.
