Seoul: SK hynix Inc. on Thursday reported its fourth-quarter net income of 8 trillion won (US$5.6 billion), marking a dramatic shift from a loss of 1.37 trillion won in the same period a year earlier.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the company's operating income for the October-December period soared to 8.08 trillion won, representing a remarkable 2235.8 percent increase from the previous year. Revenue also saw a substantial rise, climbing 74.8 percent to 19.76 trillion won.
These impressive earnings exceeded market expectations, as analysts had predicted a net profit of 5.99 trillion won, based on a survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency. This strong performance underscores SK hynix's successful recovery and growth trajectory in the semiconductor industry.
