Court Schedules Additional Hearing for Yoon’s Impeachment Trial

Seoul: The Constitutional Court announced on Thursday that it will conduct an additional hearing for President Yoon Suk Yeol's impeachment trial next week. This decision marks the scheduling of the ninth formal hearing, set to take place at 2 p.m. on Tuesday. During this session, arguments from both Yoon's representatives and those from the National Assembly will be heard for two hours each.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the court had initially anticipated concluding the oral arguments with Thursday's eighth hearing. This session was attended by President Yoon and several key witnesses, including the Director of the National Intelligence Service, Cho Tae-yong. The impeachment proceedings, which commenced in December, aim to determine whether the National Assembly's impeachment of President Yoon-stemming from his brief imposition of martial law on December 3-should be upheld or dismissed.
