KORIBOR Rates Show Minor Fluctuations Across Terms

Seoul: The Korea Interbank Offered Rates (KORIBOR) remained steady in the short term while experiencing slight declines in the medium to long term, as reported by Yonhap Infomax, the financial news and information arm of Yonhap News Agency. As of 11:00 a.m., the rates for the 1-week and 1-month terms held at 3.00% and 2.98%, respectively, maintaining their levels from the previous session.

According to Yonhap News Agency, minor adjustments were observed in the longer-term rates. The 2-month KORIBOR rate decreased marginally from 2.98% to 2.97%, while the 3-month rate saw a similar slight decline from 2.97% to 2.96%. The 6-month rate moved from 2.95% to 2.94%, and the 12-month rate experienced the most significant change, dropping from 2.87% to 2.85%.

These changes in the KORIBOR rates are closely monitored by financial institutions and market analysts, as they serve as a benchmark for lending rates among banks in South Korea. The stability in the short-term rates indicates a consistent demand for liquidity, whereas the slight declines in the longer terms might reflect adjustments in market expectations or monetary policy signals.
