Seoul: South Korean tech giants LG Electronics Inc. and Samsung Electronics Co. have received favorable evaluations for their refrigerators from a U.S. consumer magazine, industry sources said Sunday. LG refrigerators were selected as the "Best Refrigerators of 2025" in two product categories chosen by Consumer Reports.
According to Yonhap News Agency, in a separate fridge model category, Samsung was ranked No. 1, followed by LG. The evaluation was based on factors including temperature control, temperature uniformity, and energy efficiency, as well as a customer survey of hundreds of refrigerator models available in the U.S. market.
The report highlights the significant presence of Samsung, LG, and other South Korean brands in the U.S. refrigerator market, with their collective market share reaching nearly 50 percent. In an earlier evaluation by the U.S. magazine, LG and Samsung also ranked No. 1 in the washer and dryer combo categories, the sources added.
