Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index witnessed a mix of gains and losses, with significant movements observed in a number of stocks. Hanwha Aerospace emerged as one of the top performers with its shares rising by 48,000 to close at 753,000, while Samsung C and T saw an increase of 3,900 to settle at 123,500.
According to Yonhap News Agency, several other companies also experienced notable changes. LG Innotek's shares climbed by 900, reaching a closing price of 158,900. Meanwhile, Lotte Chemical Corp's stock declined by 4,300, ending at 69,800. Other gainers included Hyundai Wia, which increased by 700 to 45,250, and Samsung SDS, which rose by 2,600 to close at 122,800.
Korea Aerospace recorded a substantial increase, with its shares up by 9,300, closing at 95,000. Mobis also saw a rise, gaining 4,000 to finish at 259,500. In contrast, KumhoPetrochem experienced a decrease of 700 to 112,800, and POSCO DX fell by 600 to 27,000.
The financial sector also saw movement, with Samsung Securities up by 1,000 to 46,050, while KEPCO recorded a slight decline of 100, closing at 22,150. DWS shares increased by 650, reaching 36,000, and KT saw a rise of 700, ending at 49,800.
Other notable changes included Coway, which gained 3,100 to close at 86,600, and Lotte Shopping, which declined by 400 to end at 66,300. The energy sector witnessed Doosan Enerbility's shares fall by 1,150, closing at 25,600.
Overall, the KOSPI 200 reflected a varied performance with several stocks demonstrating significant upward movements, while others faced declines. The market dynamics indicated a day of active trading and diverse outcomes for investors.
