KOSPI 200 Sees Mixed Results With Notable Gains in POSCO and Taekwang Industries

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index, representing a selection of 200 major companies on the Korea Stock Exchange, closed with mixed results on Tuesday. Among the notable performers, Taekwang Industries and Nongshim experienced significant price increases, while SeAH Steel Holdings and KIA Corp. faced declines.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Taekwang Industries saw its stock price rise by 9,000 KRW, closing at 738,000 KRW. Nongshim also registered a strong performance, with an increase of 11,000 KRW, bringing its stock price to 400,000 KRW. POSCO International and Hyundai Motor also reported gains, with increases of 1,300 KRW and 1,500 KRW, closing at 55,900 KRW and 200,500 KRW, respectively.

In contrast, several companies saw declines in their stock prices. SeAH Steel Holdings experienced a decrease of 7,500 KRW, closing at 260,500 KRW. KIA Corp. and SK hynix also reported losses, with declines of 2,400 KRW and 3,000 KRW, bringing their prices to 96,400 KRW and 203,000 KRW, respectively.

Other companies such as Hyundai M and F Insurance, Samsung Fire and Marine Insurance, and POSCO Future M posted positive performances, with increases of 300 KRW, 6,500 KRW, and 1,600 KRW, closing at 23,200 KRW, 394,500 KRW, and 137,500 KRW, respectively.

Meanwhile, stocks like CJ, KCC, and Lotte Chilsung saw declines. CJ's price dropped by 3,900 KRW to 127,300 KRW, KCC fell by 3,000 KRW to 278,500 KRW, and Lotte Chilsung decreased by 1,100 KRW to 107,400 KRW.

Overall, the KOSPI 200 index reflected a varied market performance with both gains and losses across different sectors.
