Trump Jr. to Visit South Korea at Invitation of Shinsegae Chairman

Seoul: Donald Trump Jr., the eldest son of U.S. President Donald Trump, is set to visit South Korea next week at the invitation of Shinsegae Group Chairman Chung Yong-jin, a group official announced. The visit marks Trump Jr.'s first trip to South Korea since the inauguration of his father in January.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Trump Jr. plans to meet with key business officials during his visit, although the exact date and further details of his trip remain undisclosed. The visit comes amid challenges faced by South Korean businesses due to a series of new tariffs imposed by the Trump administration on imports to the United States, including those from South Korea.

Chung Yong-jin and Trump Jr. share a close relationship. In December, Trump Jr. extended an invitation to the Shinsegae chairman to visit Mar-a-Lago, the resort of President Trump in Florida. This visit facilitated a meeting between Chung and then President-elect Trump.

South Korean business circles have reportedly sought Chung's assistance in arranging Trump Jr.'s visit as a means to establish a connection with the Trump administration, amid the ongoing trade challenges.
