Nat’l Assembly Speaker and Mongolian President Engage in Talks on Key Minerals and Supply Chain

Ulaanbaatar: National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-shik has held talks with Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh and other top officials to discuss ways to boost bilateral ties in critical minerals and supply chains, Woo's office said Tuesday. During his meeting with Khurelsukh on Monday, Woo also discussed partnerships in areas of transportation, infrastructure, and people-to-people exchanges.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Woo emphasized the importance of the economic partnership agreement amidst global economic uncertainties, including recent reciprocal tariffs by the United States and rising protectionism. He expressed hope that the agreement would expand trade and investment and strengthen cooperation in key areas such as supply chains.

In a separate meeting, Woo engaged with his counterpart, Dashzegve Amarbayasgalan, underscoring the importance of cultivating friendly ties between the two parliaments. He called for deeper collaboration in climate and veterans affairs. Woo's visit marks the first official trip to Mongolia by a National Assembly Speaker since 2013.
