Acting President Lee Pledges to Ensure Stable State Affairs

Seoul: Acting President Lee Ju-ho said Friday he will make utmost efforts to stabilize government affairs and ensure the fair management of the June 3 presidential election. Speaking to reporters as he arrived at the government complex in Seoul, Lee expressed a profound sense of responsibility, stating, "I feel a great sense of responsibility to be entrusted with such a heavy duty."

According to Yonhap News Agency, Lee emphasized his commitment to stable state governance by promising to maintain close communication with the National Assembly and engage in thorough discussions with Cabinet members. He addressed concerns about potential leadership gaps in diplomacy, security, and trade, highlighting his dedication to preventing such issues.

Lee assumed the role of acting president on Friday after the resignation of former acting President Han Duck-soo and Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Choi Sang-mok, which took place on Thursday. As the deputy prime minister for social affairs and education minister, Lee's new position places him at the forefront of ensuring continuity and stability in the government's operations.
