DP’s Lee Leads PPP’s Kim 49 Pct to 27 Pct in Latest Poll

Seoul: Democratic Party presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung is leading his People Power Party rival Kim Moon-soo with 49 percent support against Kim's 27 percent, a survey showed Thursday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, a National Barometer Survey (NBS) conducted from Monday to Wednesday placed candidate Lee Jun-seok of the minor New Reform Party next with 7 percent. The survey highlighted a significant public inclination towards regime change, with 57 percent of respondents favoring a Democratic Party victory in the upcoming June 3 presidential election. Meanwhile, 32 percent expressed a desire to extend the People Power Party's governance.

Support for political parties in the survey indicated a 42 percent preference for the liberal Democratic Party, while the conservative People Power Party garnered 28 percent support.

The poll was conducted by Embrain Public, Kstat Research, Korea Research, and Hankook Research, surveying 1,000 individuals aged 18 and older. The margin of error for this survey was 3.1 percentage points at a 95 percent confidence level.
