Overseas Voting for June 3 Presidential Election Begins Tuesday

Seoul: Overseas voting for the June 3 presidential election is set to commence Tuesday, marking the start of a six-day voting period, the election watchdog confirmed Monday. A total of 258,254 overseas South Korean nationals, including those registered as absentee voters, are eligible to cast their votes at 223 polling stations located across 118 countries.

According to Yonhap News Agency, polling stations have been established for the first time in South Korean overseas missions situated in Cuba, Luxembourg, Lithuania, and Estonia, where diplomatic missions were recently set up. The National Election Commission (NEC) facilitated this expansion to accommodate voters in these newly established locations.

Eligible voters who are unable to participate in the overseas voting process or those preferring to vote in South Korea have the option to do so on the designated voting day. To ensure their participation, they must report to regional election commissions between May 26 and June 3, as stated by the NEC.
