Suspect at Large After Killing Two and Injuring Two in Siheung

Siheung: Police said Monday they are tracking the whereabouts of a man suspected of killing two people and injuring two others over a span of several days. According to Siheung Police Station in the city some 32 kilometers southeast of Seoul, the man is a Chinese national of Korean ethnicity in his 50s and was identified after he stabbed the female owner of a convenience store in Siheung at around 9:30 a.m. Monday.

Police said surveillance camera footage at the scene showed a man wearing a white mask, but other details were difficult to discern as the images were blurry. The woman sustained serious injuries to her abdomen and face and is currently being treated at a hospital.

After checking the suspect's license plate, police said they arrived at his home at around 11 a.m. and discovered a body that appeared to be several days old. The body has yet to be identified. Police continued their search for the suspect, as he was not at home, but at around 1:20 p.m., he stabbed a man in his 70s at a park some 2 km away from the convenience store. The stabbed man was also seriously injured and taken to a hospital.

By 2 p.m., police had discovered a second unidentified body at a home across from the convenience store. Police said they have launched a full-scale investigation into the case by mobilizing all available forces.
