Seoul: In his third game back after a lengthy injury absence, Kia Tigers slugger Patrick Wisdom made a significant impact by hitting a home run into the deepest part of the largest stadium in South Korean baseball on Wednesday night.According to Yonhap News Agency, Wisdom's two-run home run off Doosan Bears reliever Lee Young-ha at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul broke a 3-3 tie, propelling the Tigers to an 8-3 victory. This win marked the Tigers' third consecutive triumph in the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO). The home run was Wisdom's 10th of the season and his first since April 24.Wisdom expressed satisfaction with his performance, stating, "That was a good one especially, to put us ahead." The home run had an exit velocity of 171.3 kilometers per hour and traveled 127.7 meters into the left-center field seats. Wisdom, previously a three-time 20-homer player for the Chicago Cubs, had been among the league leaders with nine home runs through AprSil before missing games due to a back injury. Since hi s return, he has been impressive, batting 7-for-15 in three games."I feel good. The rehab team did a good job of getting me stronger," Wisdom said, crediting the rehabilitation efforts for his successful return. He emphasized the importance of a careful recovery, stating, "I wanted to go at my pace, and I knew if I came back a little too early, then I couldn't give my best out on the field."Wisdom's return comes at a crucial time, as other key players like Kim Do-yeong and Kim Sun-bin are currently sidelined.
