Seoul: The presidential office announced that it will start receiving public recommendations for the appointment of Cabinet ministers and vice ministers. This initiative is part of the new administration's commitment to creating a government that emphasizes the sovereignty of the people.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the presidential spokesperson Kang Yu-jung informed reporters that from Tuesday, people can submit their recommendations for ministers, vice ministers, and chiefs of state-run agencies via the Ministry of Personnel Management's website. This opportunity will be available for one week. Additionally, suggestions can also be made by sending messages to President Lee Jae-myung's official social media accounts and email.
Kang Yu-jung highlighted that the Lee Jae-myung administration aims to foster a government by the people by identifying genuine talent through a transparent and fair personnel recommendation system. This approach aligns with Lee's campaign promise to adopt a public recommendation system.
Individuals who are recommended will undergo a personnel screening process conducted by the presidential office, followed by a public vetting procedure before they are officially appointed, as stated by Kang.
