Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index displayed considerable movement with numerous companies experiencing notable changes in their stock prices.
According to Yonhap News Agency, several major players in the South Korean market observed increases in their closing prices, contributing to an overall positive trend for the index.
Among the top gainers, SK saw a substantial rise, closing at 201,000 with an increase of 10,400. SK hynix also experienced a significant boost, closing at 248,000, up by 12,500. Samsung C and T had a notable gain, closing at 172,200 with an increase of 6,300, while HyundaiEng and Const recorded a rise, closing at 79,100 after a gain of 5,500.
Other companies that contributed to the upward trend included Doosan, which closed at 599,000 with an increase of 30,000, and COSMAX, closing at 256,000 after a rise of 17,000. KIWOOM also observed a healthy increase, closing at 212,500 with a gain of 17,500.
Conversely, some companies faced declines. NCsoft experienced a drop, closing at 170,900 after a decrease of 5,600. POSCO DX and LOTTE SHOPPING also saw declines, closing at 23,100 and 73,400, respectively, with respective decreases of 300 and 700.
Overall, the KOSPI 200 index demonstrated strong performance with several companies showing positive movement, indicating possible investor confidence in the market. The changes in stock prices across various sectors reflect the dynamic nature of the South Korean economy.
