Seoul: National Security Adviser Wi Sung-lac, the chief security aide to President Lee Jae Myung, is set to participate in the upcoming North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) summit scheduled to take place in the Netherlands this week, as confirmed by the presidential office.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Wi will represent President Lee at the NATO summit, which is planned for Tuesday and Wednesday in The Hague. Presidential spokesperson Kang Yu-jung conveyed this information in a written briefing, though the specifics of Wi's agenda at the summit were not disclosed.
President Lee opted out of attending the NATO summit himself due to pressing domestic obligations and the volatile situation in the Middle East. This decision follows recent developments involving the United States' military actions on three nuclear sites in Iran, which have contributed to regional instability.
