Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index experienced a varied trading session with several stocks showing significant movements. While some stocks recorded gains, others saw declines, leading to a mixed performance in the market. Notably, companies such as KIH, Kakao, and LGChem saw an increase in their stock prices, while HYUNDAI ROTEM and LIG Nex1 experienced notable downturns.
According to Yonhap News Agency, KIH led the gains with a rise of 16,400, closing at 148,400. Kakao also performed well, witnessing an increase of 2,800 to close at 70,400. LGChem followed with a gain of 8,500, ending the session at 211,000. On the other hand, HYUNDAI ROTEM saw a significant decline of 14,000, closing at 200,000, while LIG Nex1 fell by 76,000 to finish at 554,000.
In addition, several other stocks posted gains. HANATOUR SERVICE increased by 700 to 54,900, COSMAX rose by 6,000 to 276,000, and KIWOOM advanced by 16,500, closing at 236,500. Meanwhile, stocks such as HYUNDAIDEPTST and NCsoft experienced declines, with HYUNDAIDEPTST falling by 1,000 to 75,800 and NCsoft decreasing by 100 to 194,100.
Other notable gainers included Hanwha Ocean, which rose by 1,100 to 87,400, and Hanwha Life, which increased by 140 to close at 3,395. Among the stocks that experienced declines, DAEWOONG PHARM decreased by 500, ending at 151,200, and SK Innovation dropped by 1,000 to close at 101,800.
Overall, the KOSPI 200 displayed mixed results with significant movements across various stocks, reflecting a diverse trading day for investors.
