Hyundai Motor Group Tops J.D. Power’s Quality Survey for Second Year

Seoul: Hyundai Motor Group announced its achievement of ranking first overall in the J.D. Power 2025 U.S. Initial Quality Study for the second consecutive year. The South Korean automotive company has maintained its top position for vehicles sold in the United States, highlighting its ongoing commitment to quality.

According to Yonhap News Agency, this year's survey involved approximately 92,000 customers who purchased new vehicles between March 2024 and February. The survey included a questionnaire of 227 items designed to gather customers' quality complaints, with a lower score indicating higher quality satisfaction. Hyundai Motor Group, which includes Hyundai Motor Co. and Kia Corp., achieved the highest ranking among 17 global automaker groups with a score of 178 points.

On an individual brand level, Hyundai Motor Co. and Kia Corp. ranked second and sixth, achieving scores of 173 and 181 points, respectively. In the premium brand category, Hyundai's independent brand Genesis secured third place with a score of 183 points.

In segment-specific evaluations, Hyundai's Santa Cruz was recognized as the top midsize pickup for the second year running, while Kia's Telluride was named the best in the upper midsize sport utility vehicle (SUV) segment. Additionally, three of Hyundai Motor Group's manufacturing plants received J.D. Power quality awards for their excellence in production quality.
