Seoul: SK Telecom Co., South Korea's largest wireless carrier, announced that it has lowered its 2025 sales target to 17 trillion won (US$12.5 billion) from the previously announced 17.8 trillion won. This adjustment reflects the company's customer compensation plans following a data breach earlier this year.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the company also revised its operating profit outlook to project an on-year decline instead of the previously anticipated growth. This change comes in light of planned customer compensation packages worth 500 billion won, which are linked to the April breach that impacted all 25 million of its users.
"The target figures may change depending on future business performance and management conditions," SK Telecom stated, indicating that the situation remains fluid as the company continues to address the repercussions of the data breach.
