Seoul: Samsung Electronics Co. on Tuesday estimated its second-quarter operating earnings at 4.59 trillion won (US$3.4 billion), representing a 55.9 percent decline from the same period last year. The company's revenue saw a slight decrease of 0.1 percent, reaching 74 trillion won. However, data regarding net earnings was not available at this time.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the operating profit was significantly lower than anticipated, falling 23.4 percent short of the average estimate derived from a survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency. Samsung has announced plans to release its final earnings report later.
