Seoul: President Lee Jae Myung's approval rating edged down from a week earlier to 63 percent, a survey showed Friday. In the Gallup Korea survey of 1,002 adults conducted between Tuesday and Thursday, 63 percent said Lee was doing well on state affairs, down 2 percentage points from the previous week, while 23 percent of the respondents disapproved of his performance.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the approval rating for the ruling Democratic Party fell 3 percentage points to 43 percent, while support for the main opposition People Power Party (PPP) also dropped 3 percentage points to 19 percent. It marked the first time the PPP's approval rating fell below 20 percent since November 2020.
The survey had a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points at a 95 percent confidence level.
