KOSPI 200 Sees Mixed Performance as Tech and Pharma Stocks Rise

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index displayed a mixed performance today, with notable gains in the technology and pharmaceutical sectors. Kakao closed at 57,200, experiencing a decline of 1,100. Meanwhile, NCsoft saw an increase, closing at 213,500, up by 1,500. HANATOUR SERVICE also experienced a slight increase, closing at 57,600, up by 100.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the cosmetics sector had a mixed day, with COSMAX rising significantly by 6,500 to close at 259,000, while LG H and H fell by 6,000 to settle at 333,000. The financial sector saw KIH drop by 3,300, closing at 160,300, and ShinhanGroup fell by 1,000 to end at 70,800. However, KBFinancialGroup rose by 1,100, closing at 119,600.

The industrial sector also showed varied results. Hanwha Ocean closed at 78,000, marking an increase of 1,400, while HD Hyundai Infracore rose by 90 to close at 11,730. HYUNDAI ROTEM experienced a notable increase, closing at 193,600, up by 2,600. On the other hand, KEPCO KPS fell by 300 to 53,400.

In the pharmaceutical industry, HanmiPharm saw a substantial rise, closing at 289,000, up by 9,000. Celltrion also increased by 1,600 to close at 178,600. DAEWOONG PHARM experienced a slight increase of 100, ending at 164,400. Meanwhile, SD Biosensor experienced a decline, closing at 10,230, down by 90.

The energy sector saw SK Innovation rise by 500, closing at 116,000. On the contrary, LGCHEM fell by 500, closing at 273,000. In the finance sector, HANAFINANCIALGR rose by 900 to close at 96,500, while Youngone Corp decreased by 700 to end at 61,700.

The overall performance of the KOSPI 200 was mixed, with gains in some sectors being offset by declines in others. The fluctuations indicate varying investor sentiments across different industries.
