Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index exhibited varied performances for its listed companies, with significant movements noticed among technology and automotive stocks. Notably, NAVER's stock rose by 1,000 to close at 234,000, while HyundaiMtr saw a substantial increase of 5,000, closing at 223,000. These gains were among the highest recorded on the index today.
According to Yonhap News Agency, other notable performers included Kia Corp., which surged by 4,700 to reach 110,400, and AMOREPACIFIC, which gained 2,500, closing at 133,600. In contrast, LS experienced a drop of 5,300, ending the day at 169,200, and POSCO Holdings decreased by 3,500 to finish at 313,000.
On the downside, LIG Nex1 fell by 7,000 to 615,000, marking one of the largest declines for the day. Hyundai Steel also faced a decrease, down 1,700 to 35,800. In the financial sector, DB INSURANCE rose by 100, closing at 129,800, while HanaFinancialGr and Hanwha Life remained unchanged at 86,000 and 3,495, respectively.
Additionally, smaller changes were observed in companies like FOOSUNG, which increased by 55 to 4,900, and KG Mobility, which also saw a rise of 55, reaching 3,590. Meanwhile, TCC STEEL experienced a slight decline, down 10 to 19,110.
In summary, the KOSPI 200's mixed results reflect the varying performances of its constituents, with technology and automotive stocks making notable gains, while some industrial and heavy industries stocks faced declines.
