Seoul: Korea Airport Service Co., an aircraft ground handling unit of Hanjin Group, announced it has secured an air agency certificate from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This certification allows the company to provide maintenance services for U.S.-registered air carriers.
According to Yonhap News Agency, nine U.S. air carriers, including Delta Airlines Inc. and American Airlines Inc., currently operate at Incheon International Airport, South Korea's primary gateway. Korea Airport Service initiated the FAA certification process in 2023, collaborating with its affiliate, Korean Air Co. During this period, the company also obtained equivalent licenses from aviation authorities in Laos and the Philippines.
Korea Airport Service is now equipped to offer aircraft maintenance services to 12 air carriers, including Korean Air. Additionally, the company provides airport ground handling services to 50 customers.
