Seoul: SK Bioscience Co. on Thursday reported its second-quarter net loss of 16.8 billion won (US$12.1 million), remaining in the red compared with a year ago. The company disclosed these financial results in a regulatory filing, highlighting ongoing financial challenges.
According to Yonhap News Agency, SK Bioscience continued to post an operating loss of 37.4 billion won for the April-June period, which marks an increase from the 19.9 billion won loss recorded in the same period the previous year. Despite the increase in operating losses, the company experienced a significant revenue increase of 504.5 percent, reaching 161.9 billion won.
This substantial rise in revenue reflects the company's efforts to enhance its financial performance, although it has not yet translated into profitability. SK Bioscience's financial situation underscores the challenges it faces in achieving a turnaround amidst fluctuating market conditions.
