Seoul: Hanwha Aerospace Co., South Korea's leading defense systems manufacturer, reported its second-quarter net profit of 287.7 billion won (US$207.1 million), marking a significant increase of 79.9 percent from the same period last year.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the company disclosed in a regulatory filing that its operating profit for the April-June period surged 156.3 percent year-on-year to 864.4 billion won. Additionally, the company's sales saw a substantial rise, increasing 168.7 percent to reach 6.27 trillion won.
The operating profit exceeded expectations, being 32.2 percent higher than the average estimate, as per a survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data arm of Yonhap News Agency. However, the estimate for net profit was not available.
