Seoul: Foreign Minister Cho Hyun spoke by phone with Vietnam's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son on Wednesday, focusing on enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation in fields such as economy, science, and technology, according to Cho's office.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Cho highlighted the active high-level exchanges between the two countries since the launch of the Lee Jae Myung government in June. He proposed that both sides maintain close collaboration on regional and international issues, as stated in a release by Seoul's foreign ministry.
Son, aligning with Cho's perspective, emphasized that Vietnam regards South Korea as a "trustworthy and key partner." He expressed expectations for the advancement of the strategic partnership between the two nations.
Son also expressed hopes for the successful hosting of the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit by South Korea, which is scheduled to be held in the southeastern city of Gyeongju in late October, as noted by the ministry.
