Seoul: Samsung E and A Co., a plant engineering arm of Samsung Group, announced that it has secured a 36 billion-won (US$26 million) contract for the preliminary design and planning of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in Indonesia.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Samsung E and A will undertake the front-end engineering design (FEED) for the INPEX Abadi Onshore LNG Project. The project, which is spearheaded by Japanese oil and gas company Inpex Corp., aims to transform natural gas from the Abadi Gas Field into approximately 9.5 million tons of LNG per year at an onshore facility.
Samsung E and A will collaborate with Adhi Karya, Indonesia's state-owned construction enterprise, and KBR Indonesia, the local branch of U.S. energy engineering firm KBR Inc., to execute this project.
