Seoul: The presidential office has launched sign language interpretation for briefings, providing a new service aimed at assisting individuals with hearing impairments. This marks the first occasion where such a service is being offered by the office.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the inaugural service was provided during a joint press briefing held between President Lee Jae Myung and To Lam, the general secretary of Vietnam’s Communist Party, following their summit. This initiative is part of an effort to make state affairs more accessible to people with hearing and speech impairments.
The office announced that the service will initially be available for all briefings, with plans to expand it to other significant events in the future. The introduction of sign language interpretation is anticipated to enhance information accessibility and improve transparency in state matters.
