Seoul: First lady Kim Hea Kyung and Ngo Phuong Ly, spouse of Vietnam’s top leader To Lam, toured the National Museum of Korea on Monday as part of a spousal exchange program for a state visit by the Vietnamese leader.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Ly, wearing a yellow ao dai, toured the museum alongside Kim, who was dressed in a light pink hanbok. They were accompanied by museum director Yoo Hong-jun. During the tour, Kim introduced symbolic exhibits such as the pensive Bodhisattva, royal protocol manuscripts, moon jars, Buddha statues, and artifacts from ancient temples.
Kim highlighted that the museum, known for its extensive historical and art collections, has recently experienced a surge in visitors, largely due to the popularity of the Netflix animated film “K-Pop Demon Hunters.” Ly shared that young people in Vietnam are fans of K-pop and kimbap, the seaweed-wrapped rice roll. She also expressed interest in the miniature of Bodhisattva during their stop at a gift shop, as reported by a pool report.
Earlier that day, the two spouses met at the presidential office to discuss cultural and people-to-people exchanges. On Sunday, Ly had also met with Vietnamese women living in South Korea, expressing her commitment to supporting them and the children of multicultural families.
