Hyundai Motor and L.A. Museum Partner to Feature Tavares Strachan Exhibition

Los angeles: Hyundai Motor Co. announced on Wednesday its collaboration with the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) to showcase an exhibition by artist Tavares Strachan. This exhibition is part of the automaker's ongoing partnership with the U.S. museum.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the exhibition, titled "Tavares Strachan: The Day Tomorrow Began," is set to open on October 12 at LACMA and will run through March 29, 2026. This event marks the Bahamas-born artist's first major museum show in Los Angeles. The exhibition will delve into overlooked or erased histories, notably those related to the Black diaspora, through various forms such as sculpture, painting, text, and music.

Visitors to the exhibition will find themselves in immersive settings that range from uncanny everyday scenes to surreal landscapes. These environments are designed to prompt visitors to reconsider which histories are celebrated and how they are depicted.

Hyundai Motor has been in partnership with LACMA since 2015, supporting exhibitions, art research initiatives, and artist programs. "Through our partnership with LACMA, we are honored to be part of the journey of Tavares Strachan, who invites us to reflect on the potential of narratives as a lasting force for inclusivity and transformation," stated Choi Doo-eun, art director at Hyundai Motor.
