Nongshim Launches ‘KPop Demon Hunters’-Themed Products Globally

Seoul: Nongshim Co., South Korea's prominent instant noodle maker, announced plans to release new products featuring characters from the globally acclaimed animated movie "KPop Demon Hunters" later this month. The company's flagship products, Shin Ramyun and Shrimp Crackers, will debut in new packaging that includes characters such as Rumi, Zoey, Saja Boys, and Derpy the tiger, starting in late August.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the collaboration will also introduce the new Shin Toomba Sauce as part of the themed product line. These limited-edition items will be available across multiple regions, including South Korea, North America, Europe, Oceania, and Southeast Asia. Additionally, Nongshim will launch special cup noodles inspired by those consumed by the fictional K-pop group Huntrix in the movie, complemented by a series of global on- and offline promotional events.

The movie, released in June as a Netflix original, narrates the story of a girl group that defends the human world from evil spirits. It has achieved worldwide popularity, ranking second on Netflix's most-popular movies list with 210.5 million views, trailing only the 2021 blockbuster "Red Notice." The movie's soundtrack has also gained international attention, with the song "Golden" reaching the top of Billboard's Hot 100 main singles chart last week.

Nongshim revealed that the collaboration was made possible by the movie's authentic portrayal of Korean food, including items resembling their own cup noodles and snacks. A spokesperson from Nongshim highlighted the organic identification of their products by fans and expressed the company's hope to share the genuine taste of Korean ramyeon and snacks through this collaboration with "KPop Demon Hunters."
