Seoul: A hearing is set for this week to decide on issuing an arrest warrant for former Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, linked to former President Yoon Suk Yeol's failed martial law imposition, as announced by a court on Monday. The Seoul Central District Court has planned the hearing for 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, following special counsel Cho Eun-suk's request for a warrant to arrest Han on charges such as abetting insurrection, falsifying and destroying official documents, and perjury.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Han is accused of supporting Yoon's brief martial law imposition in December by suggesting a Cabinet meeting before the declaration and drafting, then destroying, a revised proclamation to legitimize the decree. Furthermore, the former prime minister is suspected of committing perjury at the Constitutional Court and the National Assembly by claiming ignorance of a martial law declaration copy until after the decree's revocation.
