Seoul: Senior diplomats from South Korea and Bangladesh engaged in discussions to enhance bilateral cooperation in the economy, development aid, and other sectors during their vice-ministerial policy talks, as reported by Seoul's foreign ministry.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the dialogue was spearheaded by First Vice Foreign Minister Park Yoon-joo and Md. Nazrul Islam, the secretary for East and bilateral affairs of Bangladesh. The discussions encompassed various areas, including economic collaboration, human resources, and development assistance, along with regional and global issues.
During the meeting, Vice Minister Park expressed South Korea's intention to continue collaborating with Bangladesh to support its economic and social development. He highlighted Bangladesh as a crucial partner in South Korea's development aid initiatives and sought Bangladesh's support for South Korean companies operating in the region.
Md. Nazrul Islam expressed optimism about expanding cooperation with South Korea beyond the economic sphere, emphasizing interest in sectors such as shipbuilding, semiconductors, and healthcare.
