Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index witnessed a varied session with significant fluctuations in stock prices, as key players closed predominantly lower. Among the notable decliners, LG Energy Solution faced a substantial drop, closing at 364,000, down by 9,500. Similarly, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries saw a sharp decline, ending at 503,000, a decrease of 18,000 points.
According to Yonhap News Agency, other companies also experienced declines, including Hyosung Heavy, which fell to 1,229,000, down by 1,000, and HS Hyosung Advanced, which closed at 189,500, down by 800. POSCO Holdings dropped to 288,000, shedding 6,000 points, while HYBE ended at 290,000, down by 5,500.
In contrast, some stocks recorded gains. Nongshim rose significantly, closing at 412,500, up by 9,500. LS also performed well, ending at 173,200, an increase of 5,600. Other gainers included Hanchem, which rose to 177,000, up by 3,100, and HDHMS that closed at 212,000, up by 3,000.
Additional movements in the index included SamsungSecu, which increased to 69,300, up by 1,200, and Shinsegae, closing at 166,500, up by 1,100 points. Despite the mixed results, the market showed resilience with several companies like DongwonInd and LOTTE posting positive performances.
The session concluded with a varied outlook, highlighting both opportunities and challenges for investors navigating the current market dynamics.
